Providing Bespoke Career Support
This week we kick off a new feature to help you get to know a little more about our members. Please meet Marissa Nordstrom.

Who I am and how I got here: Based on all the assessments and inventories I have taken plus my own lived experience, it is clear that I am someone who always plays on the edges and margins. I make connections across cultures, communities, fields and belief systems. In my own professional life, this has meant a wide variety of jobs that all had a few unifying factors: curiosity, helping others and making things better. I’ve worked in nonprofits, state government, my own businesses and healthcare. I am bilingual in English/Spanish, I designed my own bachelor’s degree in Southwest Studies, and I have a master’s in Intercultural Communication with an emphasis on diversity in the U.S. This is why my purpose is to help high performers with a heart of service and why my business is centered on the values of social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
What exactly I do: I am a holistic career coach. After working on over 200 resumes, I realized that while I can definitely accomplish the technical writing, what I really love is the personal connection with someone who is seeking to live more authentically, use their life for good and invest in their transformation. Therefore, my approach now is more in-depth and often includes pre-work, an assessment, coaching, interview practice, negotiation support, action planning and resources. Of course, I also still provide resume/cover letter products and LinkedIn optimization.I offer a balance of intuitive insights, grounded support and pragmatic tools tailored to each client.
Why I do it: I have a gift for this work, there is a deep need for it, and it is immensely gratifying. It also allows me to contribute to social causes financially and as a volunteer.
My dream project that I will bring to life in the next year: Working with clients in a quiet and beautiful natural retreat setting to get away from the typical responsibilities and distractions of daily life.
Where to find me: Right here in the WriterGal Network directory, my website (www.yourcareerconcierge.com) and on LinkedIn.
