The Grant Plant, Inc. provides two core services essential to resource development: research and writing. Research includes both prospect research and data research (for writing a needs statement or case for support). Prospect research is targeted toward funders that are appropriate for nonprofit organizations to approach for funding. Writing projects are typically grant proposals and inquiries, responses to RFP and contract bids, copy for collateral materials, and nominations.
Using a flexible approach that is tailored to each of our clients, The Grant Plant has been instrumental in turning ideas into fundable projects by writing or developing concepts to emphasize the things that grant reviewers look for: compelling needs statements, carefully designed program strategies, evidence of organizational capacity, achievable and measurable goals and objectives, and plans to measure the organization’s progress. The Grant Plant commits its time to both large nonprofits, that have already received a wide range of community support, and to small, grassroots nonprofits, which in many cases are start-ups and are seeking grants and other funding for the first time. With a vision to be a leading agency in consulting, resource development, and customer service to facilitate positive state outcomes, The Grant Plant is a major contributor to the vibrancy of New Mexico’s social and economic base.
The Grant Plant is dedicated to providing superior and affordable resource development services that assist nonprofit organizations in enhancing the quality of life for New Mexico residents. Now in its eighth year of business, The Grant Plant has written over $23 million in funded proposals that help nonprofit organizations secure the resources they need to improve the lives of New Mexicans. The average return on investment for clients in 2009 was $45 for every dollar paid. The Grant Plant’s business philosophy is to grow in sync with its clients; we don’t seek simply to expand business volume, but to contribute to the culture and wellbeing of people throughout New Mexico. We do this by fostering connections between our clients and by being part of their efforts to improve New Mexico’s standard of living.
Prospect Research. One of The Grant Plant's signature products, a grant profile, aligns an organization's fundraising goals with appropriate prospective funding sources. A grant profile consists of details on potential funding sources, including all pertinent information such as application information, contacts, deadlines, funding range, and action required. An estimate of the amount of time needed to prepare the proposal application will also be included. Each potential funding source is suitable for application.
Data Research. The Grant Plant conducts thorough research for its clients to ensure a compelling and accurate portrayal of the issues that the nonprofit organization is addressing. This research is generally used in needs statements, cases for support, donor relations materials, and as a guideline for the nonprofit to conduct its work.
Proposal Writing, Editing, Report Writing. We can assist you through all aspects of the process, including researching the necessary elements both from inside and outside sources, writing each component, reviewing all content and substance, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed. In some cases, your proposal is the only contact you may have with a grant maker, and we can assist you in making the strong and memorable impact that you will need to secure funding.
Stakeholder Relations Materials. Stakeholders are people or organizations with a vested interest in your agency, issue, or cause. Effective stakeholder relations can make the difference between thriving and fledgling for a nonprofit organization. We assist our clients in communicating with stakeholders, raising visibility, and accentuating projects. Whether you need text for an annual report, a brochure that conveys your mission to clients, or program books to educate your board of directors, The Grant Plant is able to develop the right language and tone for your materials.
